Primary School in Crook

GR Heating & Plumbing Services was asked to replace boilers at a primary school in Crook.

The boilers needed replacing in the plant room, where they had been disconnected for safety reasons.

We installed three Ideal Evomax 150Kw boilers on a cascade system. We were conscious that the new boilers would be operating at a higher pressure, and could cause damage to the existing pipe work within the school. We therefore kept the new boilers on a high pressure system and kept the two boilers separate using a plate heat exchanger, and magnetic filtration unit to protect the plates waterways.

The new flue system utilises a 200mm stainless steel flue liner. Stainless steel pipework was used aswell as galvanised and heavy gauge steel. The boilers were temporarily wired from the existing building management system until the new one was installed by another contractor.
